I know I've been posting excessive amounts of henna photos lately ... but hey, isn't this blog ALL about HENNA??!?
*mutters* who cares what's happening in my life anyway? ... *ends muttering*
So here are 2 separate photos of the henna that I posted below, in case anyone's interested in seeing them up close and personal ;).

On Saturday, I was involved in the very secret and sacred Project H spearheaded by Hana the Blog Queen (heh heh!) .
Mission: Very secret
Venue: Very sacred
..... uhmmm .... yeah okay ....
In any case, it involved alot of henna from me! YAY! All hail the Super Hennaphile .... hyuk hyuk hyuk! My "duty" was to adorn the ladies with henna so I whipped out my henna cones and gave them all some henna lurvin'. It was fun but a little tiring. I was feeling pretty confused and almost psychotic at the end of the day though. Why? 'Cos I've not had this much fun and company for a long time (uber recluse me!). Nevertheless, the food was fabulous, the company was excellent (lots of silly giggles and loud shrieks over everything), everyone loves the henna .... what more can I ask for? I met, for the first time, many lovely people whom I had only known, up till Saturday, by nicknames and blog identities. It was great putting faces to the names. Ladies, it has been a pleasure meeting all of you!!
OK, enough of my blabberings, here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.
Big thanks, hugs and kisses for the sweetie Herda for taking photos of the henna. You're DA BOMB, lady!

A henna session followed promptly after dinner (whaddya expect?? there are 2 hennaphiles in da house). Red and I did each other's right hands. She hennaed Lynn's left hand and I did Purplesal's right palm. Ezayu didn't get any henna 'cos Nazif was being a little velcro baby (thanks to me, methinks). Poor baby was a little cranky. Ohh, did I mention that he's such a cutie little boy?? He IS!
Photos!!

Although the stain looks red in the photo, it's actually a happy vibrant chocolatey brown. Digicams kill the actual colour mercilessly.
It's FRIDAY! Let's PARTAY! ...
*muses* ... hmmm, I'm a poet ....
Jewel's happy foot!
Pretty flowers!

Hmmm .... my feet look odd without henna. I love hennaed feet! I WANT hennaed feet ALWAYS! Anyways, seeing my bare un-hennaed feet in the previous entry inspired me to do this. Tomorrow the other one!
YEAH! I'm on a roll BABY!

Note: Photos taken with henna paste still on skin. Henna only stains in hues of red, brown, orange and anything in between, never black.

There was a little flea market kind of bazaar run by students at work today and I was tempted to go for a little "tour" around it. Lookie what I got!
Cheap cheap! Me happy!

Charm and me then made our way to Coffee Bean for some henna lurvin'. Hope she likes the henna!

I didn't get to meet Herda afterall. I was (and still am) suffering from tummy cramps and achy joints (gosh, signs of old age?) 'cos TOM is here for its monthly visit. Anyways, we've made plans to meet next Saturday, bright and early! Can't wait!
I helped mama make roti kirai today. One of my cousin's sons had recently khatam the muqaddam and they had a little thanksgiving kenduri. I love roti kirai BUT I hate standing in front of the hot stove, making it. *sigh*. In any case, I think mama makes the best roti kirai around ;). Love my mama!

Amir and his parents were at the party too and he had on the Winnie the Pooh rompers I got for him last week. He looked SOOOOO adorable! Cutiepoose!! Of course I can't help but shower him with affectionate aunty kisses and hugs! Ohh, and he loves his aunty! *grins*

The moment she stepped into my sister's domain, I knew rightaway this little girl I drew a portrait of 3 years ago is going to be a riot. The first time I saw her, my heart melted (awwwww ...). She is soooo pretty! Silky straight waistlength hair (I want to be Rapunzel!), fluttering eyelashes, cute smile and she geleks like no other (how cute is that???). After we did away with the customary salams and greetings, she said in a husky little girl's voice "Can I see the baby?". She was referring to my nephew, Amir. I told her that Amir is in the feeding chamber but she was undeterred. Turning to her mama, she politely asked "May I see the baby??". Her mama explained that it's Amir's feeding time and that his mama would not like people staring at her while she's breastfeeding. Iman thought for a bit ... then ...
Iman: May I see his MAH-DER please?
Fashionista: Mother (thick English accent), not Mah-der ...
hehehe ...
Iman seemed to like Amir. When asked to sing for him, she obliged with a shrill "Twinkle twinkle little star" in that husky voice of hers and I caught it on video!

Thank you for the company! We should do it again, soon!

As promised, here are the photos of the bridal henna gig last Saturday ....
* Note: these photos were taken with the paste still on the skin. Henna will only stain in hues of brown, red, orange ... not black.

Ok, so what's been going on since Wednesday? Quite a bit. I just don't have alot of time to update here ... *sigh*. I've taken photos and stuff and I really wanted to download them this morning but I *have* to forget to bring the interface cable to work (DUH!). So the photos have to wait for a bit. I only have these few which were taken using my cellphone.
*** UPDATE ***
~ Thursday ~
Just work work work ... boring stuff .... hmmm ... NOOOO, I hennaed my hand that night ... ah yes, my life is not that boring afterall ;)
The stain is a lovely chocolatey-brown. Melikes!
~ Friday ~I visited Amir at lunchtime. He's in a really good mood these days. Always grinning and murmuring and chuckling. What a sweetie pussycat! In the end, I was late back in the office 'cos I can't bear to say "goodbye" to him ... booohoooo! Ah well, sorry chubby cheeks, wak has to work, k? Wak will buy you LOTS of toys!
Let's play "Grab That Hennaed Finger!"
I received a call from a bride-to-be requesting a last minute henna job. She had enquired about my services about 2 weeks ago but I didn't hear from her again until last night. Luckily I have some leftover paste frozen since my last henna job. Lucky too that I knew the paste is still very potent (see Thursday's update, same paste was used).
She is marrying a Moroccan man today. As I (secretly) rubbed my hands in glee, I showed her some of my favourite Moroccan patterns, hoping she'd be so besotted by her man, she'd go Moroccan. But alas ... she didn't *sigh* ... and so I did some modern-ish vineys and little flowers for the top of her hands and a big modern-ish flower for her palms. All photos are in the digicam so gotta wait to see them.
After that, I met mama for a little bout of retail therapy. I needed new shoes. The ones I've been wearing every single day since March is nearly dead (I'll make a temple dedicated to you, my faithful shoes ... you've served me well). I got a pair of decent-looking Everbest pumps. Melikes :). Me and mama then went crazy, shopping for Amir's clothes. I got him 2 cute Winner the Pooh rompers and 2 pairs of cutie socks (cats and trains prints, respectively). Mama got 3 rompers that were on sale. more socks (HUH?!) and long pants. The bill? $100. Amir, nyai and wak LOVE YOUUUUUU!!! Oh, whilst shopping around, I found this dress. Hmmm ... henna patterns ...
So there you go .... UPDATES!

You must have been a beautiful baby ... 'cos baby look at you now!
Iman aka Fashionista's little princess was such a pretty little thing at 3 months old. When I saw her photo, I was soooo attracted to her eyes and hair (isn't it cute??). I remember asking her mama if I could draw her. Sadly I've never seen little Iman in person (except one time in 2001, very briefly ... and she was SOOOO tiny!). Recently I get to see (in photos) how gorgeous Iman has grown to be (not surprisingly though ;)). She was my second baby model. Gotta thank her mama for letting me practice my very amateurish skills. Big hugs and kisses for the little princess!

I love drawing babies/toddlers ... love the expression on their faces. So innocent, yet so honest. Hmmm .... Amir will be my next model! *grins*
