It's ALL about HENNA!
Ahh, I suffered through my last exam of the year, Alhamdulillah. The last paper on Friday was a killer. I tried to answer best I could, but gave up and started doodling on the question paper instead. Finally, after a butterfly, a tree, a merlion, 2 insects, a Turkish man and a series of dots later, I couldn't take it anymore and handed in my answer script. As I walked out of the room, I felt a strong urge for a ciggie. Huh, I must be nuts! I was getting delusional. Sleep deprivation does crazy things to your mind.
Anyways, I dragged my sorry, tired and sleepy behind home, had some food, did terawih and jumped right back on the laptop to finish my assignment. Yeah, how's that for dedication? NOT! I woke up in a funny position on the chair, with no feeling whatsoever on my behind *sigh*.
Saturday, I went shopping with mama. I needed clothes for Eid and I know that I won't have time to shop if I hold it off any longer. So off we went to our favourite boutique and got ourselves some pretty dresses. We then headed down to Kandahar/Bussorah Street to get food for iftar. Menu of the day: Nasi Padang from Sabar Menanti. YUMS! Had iftar at my sister's place. Amir was in a good mood, he talked to us, played with us and threw up on my dress. Nice. I love you too, baby.
Sunday was spent at home as I struggled to finish my assignment. I'm such a slacker.
*sigh*

My apologies dear lovely bloggers if my previous entry had led all of you to think that I was down with the flu.
Fact# 1 - I am well and dandy, Alhamdulillah :-) ... and thank you for all the well wishes, warms my heart immensely! My only "illness" is that I probably had a totally of 8 hours of sleep the past week. Weekend, I need you!!
Fact# 2 - I should *NOT* be allowed to tell jokes - I heard that joke on Jay's show and felt compelled to share it here (dunno why, for the life of me what led me to do that ... sleep deprivation does really stupid things to your mind) ... and yes I'm very corny too ...
Fact# 3 - I am well into my exams and that explains my absence. One paper down, one more to go. Friday can't get here soon enough ...
Fact# 4 - I'm gonna crawl back under my rock now *drags security blanket, several pints of ben & jerry's and an old tattered teddy bear along*
Thank you again for visiting, I hope there are enough imaginary fudgy wudgy brownies to go around. I'm sure they are still edible, just scrape the mold off .... yeah, easy does it ... no, it won't kill you ...
Oh, one last update: Amir can now pull his socks off and gobble them up .... Good boy! So clever!
*proud aunt*
See y'all after Friday. Make doa for me will ya? Love y'all! *hugs and kisses around*

"Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good deed receiving then times its like, up to seven hundred times. Allah the Most High said, 'Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I will give recompense for it, he leaves off his desires and his food for Me.' for the fasting person there are two times of joy; a time when he breaks his fast and a time of joy when he meets his Lord, and the smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better with Allah than the smell of musk." Thank you all lovely bloggers and visitors for the tags. I apologise for my inability to return any of it lately. As some of you know, I'm currently buried under a mess called "The Last Assignment". My exams will follow soon after (end of October) so my nose would be stuck in books and I won't be able to update for awhile.

This is the stain colour, more than 24 hours later. Yummy? Aye, VERY yummy! The camera takes a pretty accurate photo of the actual colour. This photo was not touched-up.
Am a happy henna person ... WHEEEEE!
Will write about last night's gig later .... I'm puzzling over my assignment.
All I can say about it is .... it was a blast! Red, you're a great pardner ... umm .... pardner ...

I love Moroccan patterns! I just do ... pretty ain't it?
This I did in anticipation of tonight's gig. Let's hope by tonight the stain darkens some more (what do you think, Herda? *winks*).
Paste left on for 5 hours. Went to bed with a sock over hand. Bright orange stain upon paste removal. This was taken 5 minutes ago, 5 hours after removal. Actual colour is bright red. LOVE IT!

The hennaphiles (aka moi and the redherring) will be slinging some mean henna this Friday. Plaza Hotel. Private party. Poolside.
Red did some kickass posters for the gig. And I did this. Hope we get to make some cool moolahs. Wish us luck ...

They couldn't decide where to eat. They sat at Es Teler for a good 20 minutes. I showed up with Red and we bundled everyone off to Bunz (again?!? aye, again). I have to tell you that I've got enough of BUNZ for now. It was good while it lasted.
The company again was outstanding. I love hanging out with these girls. Very fun!
Misa, Herda, Elista, Princess, Red, Rilnie and Fel, I had a blast. Hope you girls like the henna too.
Here are some henna photos. Enjoy!

Don't ask me why I was there on an early Saturday morning and I shall tell you no lies. As I wandered around Chinatown Square, savouring in the sights and smells, my eyes hunted hungrily for interesting and "photo-op" stuff. My interest in photography has always run long and deep ... even before I bought my first (and most precious) SLR camera (a Canon EOS) back in 1996 for S$800. Thanks to a shutter-bug ex, I've learnt to take some pretty good shots (amateur standard). I didn't pursue this interest further though 'cos I got trapped in life's mindless race of worldliness. *sigh*
Anyway, I digress.
I was at Chinatown last Saturday and I took some photos. These photos were taken using a cheap (but surprisingly reliable) digital camera and I am but an amateur photographer (if I could even call myself that!). Enjoy the photos and please let me have your comments, suggestions, critique, etc etc.

I did this earlier today here in the office. It's freezing cold here and I'd be lucky if I could get a decent stain out of it.
Note: Pattern appears black as it was photographed with the henna paste still on the skin. Henna stains in varying shades of red, brown and orange, NEVER black. Stay away from so-called "henna" that stains jet black. It's poison! You've been warned.

Photobucket just trashed all my photos.
*sigh*
Will be uploading the photos again but I have to find them first!
Thank you for your patience.
Please come back, the problem will be resolved soon.
