i found out 2 days ago that her wedding photos are finally posted online. i asked her if i could ... ummm ... "borrow" (aka siphon) her beautifully taken henna photos and put them up on my online gallery. her wedding photos are excellent. they were afterall taken by a very experienced photojournalist from Berita Harian (local malay daily newspaper). oh, she's a reporter from the same paper, btw.
i met her back in april, at her cousin's wedding. they both look so alike, its scary. very exquisite baby doll prettiness. anyways, here's one of the henna photos. gosh, photos like these make me look good. *ahem* i mean, make MY WORK look good. heh.
thank you soraya dear for the lovely company and the gorgeous photos.

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious)."
(Quran, al-baqarah 2:183)
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know." (Quran, al-baqarah 2:184)
"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not fast must be made up) from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him" (Quran, al-baqarah 2:185)
"There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month, in which Allah has made it obligatory to fast. During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it is a night (Laylatul-Qadr) which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good truly has been deprived." [An-Nasaa'ee, authenticated in Takhreej al-Mishkaat]

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven."
ahlan wa sahlan ya ramadhan al-mubarak!
wishing one and all a blessed ramadhan, may Allah give us patience, health and iman to perform it and may our ibadahs be accepted by Him. amiiin!
