if you don't know who ruud gullit is, then damn, you're so young! heh. anyway just to humour the clueless and oblivious, gullit is one of football's greatest greats. he was a famous and talented dutch midfielder who enjoyed his heyday in the 80's and 90's. i don't feel compelled to write his life story here so if you're THAT interested to know more, go ahead and google. "so what's the point of even mentioning him then?" you might ponder. and i would reply, the gist of this entry is simply, his hair.

"huh?? 'sup with his hair??" i'm guessing you'd then ask.

ok let me tell you a story. last thursday i got to know this nice lady and boy, does she have the most beautiful, curly hair i've seen. yeah i know, people with curly hair wish they had straight hair and vice versa and you probably think i have straight hair for saying her curly hair is beautiful, but i don't, my hair is wavy-curly. on good days, its wavy in a teasingly sexy way and on bad days, it looks "a-bomb-exploded-on-my-head", birdnest crazy. and yes, it's static too. it has a life of its own and would usually just ignore that i exist. diva personality, if you ask me.

"so urmmm, i still don't get it. what's your point again?" you'd probably demand.

this lady's hair, let's call her R, is naturally curly and its beautiful. it reminds me of my youth (heh) when i had that kind of curls in my hair. they looked like telephone wires, tight, cockscrew curls. get my drift? yeah i love that kind of curl. i think it's beautiful. and this brings me to the REAL point of this entry and why i mentioned ruud gullit earlier. back when i was in school (light years ago, haha), the boys, whenever they saw me, would call out, "OI! GULLIT!!!" simply because my telephone-wire curly hair, according to them, looked like gullit's hair, which i'd like to highlight, was not exactly curly, but dreadlocked. the nickname stayed with me till the day i graduated. i guess i kinda enjoyed being called that by the boys. i'd rather be named after a football great, than an instant noodle brand (maggi, anyone?).

ok i'm glad this is a pictureless entry, cos i can't/won't post photos of my gullit hair. heh. it's a shame that my hair is not that kind of curly anymore, cos i thought it was beautiful. nevermind that on some days i looked like a captain caveman incarnate (if you don't know who captain caveman is, damn, you're TOO young for me!), i still love it cos it made the boys call me, OI GULLIT! heh. boy, the things that make me happy. what a strange puppy i am. heh.
